Thank you for visiting my instructional design and development portfolio.

Learning is a passion for me. This means I’ve spent a lifetime planting myself into challenging situations that stretch my thinking. Professionally, I seek out environments where I have the opportunity to collaborate with stakeholders to create meaningful and memorable learning experiences. Nerdy as it may sound, I find inspiration in organizing source materials into coherent design documents. And I love developing engaging learning modules! I’m most productive when I’m most creative - and vice versa. At the heart of everything I do is a dedication to the needs of the stakeholders that I serve.

My Services

  • Audience Analysis - This involves understanding target audience and includes exploring things like demographics, prior knowledge, technical proficiency, etc.

Needs Analysis -Completed at the beginning to help define where the learning gaps are and the recommendations that will improve performance. Methods used to conduct a needs analysis could include surveys, focus groups, interviews and reviewing performance data.

  • I collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) and other stakeholders to define objectives. From there, I take the source information to create a design document, which outlines the course(s) that I recommend. Depending on your business needs, the training might be an eLearning module or an Instructor Led Training (ILT). The next phase is storyboarding, where I outline the course in detail. I don’t mind admitting that I’m pretty good at finding ways to design interesting learning modules. I make the learning engaging by adding visual appeal, gamification and interactions. All along the way, we are collaborating and I’m revising as per your needs. You can view samples of my design documents and storyboards in my portfolio.

  • Once the storyboard is approved in the design process, I get to work on developing the training. I love the development side, because it gives me a thrill to make visually pleasing learning modules that are relevant and engaging to the learners. By this point, I have a good pulse on who your learners are and I have a clear vision on the learning module we’ve agreed upon. I will share with stakeholders the alpha and beta versions and will make revisions as needed until we are gold and ready to implement the training. Your eLearning modules will be SCORM compliant and ready for your LMS. If your training is instructor led, it will come with a trainer’s guide. Please visit my portfolio to see samples that I have developed in Articulate Storyline, Rise, Vyond, Camtasia and more. I offer in-house voice over services if needed.

  • I develop microlearning when it is appropriate to chunk the learning into bite-sized pieces. This helps to avoid cognitive overload. It’s also an effective tool when followed up with practice.

Job aids are memory joggers. They are useful tools in helping a learner to complete tasks by referring to instructional cards, sheets, stickers or posters. Or I might develop explainer videos in Vyond or Camtasia. These can be smaller, stand-alone projects or imbedded into a Storyline eLearning module.
